Job Description

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER



We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide actionable financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with proven leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the accounting team in day-to-day operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and month-end/close processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with IFRS/GAAP. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations, including GST/HST, corporate taxes, and audits. Oversee internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting systems (e.g., ERP implementation/optimization). Collaborate with executive leadership on financial modeling, capital allocation, and M&A due diligence as needed. Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies. Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

Experience:

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar senior role. Experience in [industry-specific, e.g., "tech, manufacturing, or retail"] is an asset.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or SAP); advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws, IFRS, and financial regulations.

Soft Skills:

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
