Job Description

We are looking for an experienced financial controller, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting for both our Canadian and US division, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Responsibilities will also include financial risk management & daily cash flow reporting. Our manufacturing and sales operations cover Canada and the US, with employees in both countries on payroll.

Role Responsibilities

- Manage all accounting operations for both US & Canada divisions including Billing, A/R, A/P, P&l, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Revenue Recognition and Cash Flow analysis;

- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the Budget and Financial Forecasts and report variances;

- Prepare and report timely monthly financial statements to management;

- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting: Responsible for the filing of quarterly and annual reports;- Research technical accounting issues for compliance;

- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations;

- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics;

- Manage and deliver month-end and year-end close process;

- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;

- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings for both US & Canadian divisions;

- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;

- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants;

- Comply with local, state/provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings;

- Additional controller duties as necessary.

Transactions

- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable;

- Oversee accounts receivable activity;

- Oversee payroll process and ensure timely submission;

- Review cash balances and review bank reconciliations;

- Maintain the chart of accounts;

- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system;

- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.

Candidate requirements

- Proven working experience as a Financial controller; 8+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience;

- Professional accounting designation is required;

- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, prefer candidate with working knowledge of ASPE & IFRS;

- Prior experience working in a multi-national company is preferred;

- Extensive experience with consolidated financial statement;

- ERP implementation experience is highly desired.

Pay: $165,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
