You will oversee a small accounting team and be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proactive -- someone who can provide financial clarity and help drive operational and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AR, AP, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls.
Cashflow & Treasury Management
Monitor and forecast cashflow to support operational needs and growth initiatives.
Manage banking relationships and oversee credit facilities, payments, and collections.
Optimize working capital by balancing receivables, payables, and inventory.
Budgeting & Analysis
Lead annual budgeting and regular forecasting processes.
Provide management with clear financial analysis, KPIs, and variance reports.
Support strategic decision-making with scenario modeling and profitability analysis.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
Streamline financial processes and implement efficient systems for reporting and cash management.
Collaborate with other departments to align financial operations with company goals.
Compliance & External Coordination
Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
Maintain compliance with corporate, tax, and financial reporting regulations.
Support the preparation of year-end statements and audits.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or controller role.
Strong understanding of GAAP, cashflow management, and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and strong Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a growing organization.
