We are seeking a
detail-oriented and process-driven Financial Controller
to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will manage all aspects of accounting and financial administration. You will be the sole member of the accounting department, responsible for full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, government filings, and financial reporting. You'll also play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities and streamlining financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting using
QuickBooks
at an expert level.
Use
Excel
at an advanced level to support reporting and bookkeeping tasks.
Manage
accounts payable
and
accounts receivable
.
Oversee
payroll administration
and reconciliation for approximately 25 employees.
Complete
month-end and year-end
closings, including government filings.
Handle
bank deposits
,
check preparation
, and
cash management
from our POS storefront.
File all required
CRA, WSIB, EHT, HST, and QST
remittances.
Perform
monthly reconciliations
for bank accounts and credit cards.
Maintain
financial records
, invoices, and statements with complete accuracy.
Set up and monitor
accounting controls
to prevent errors or duplicate payments.
Prepare
monthly Profit & Loss statements
and other key financial reports for management.
Prepare
budgets and forecasts
to support company planning.
Administer
employee health benefits
and manage staff changes.
Support the
President
with administrative and financial coordination, including expense reports, correspondence, and meeting organization.
Oversee
online marketplace payments
and generate detailed sales and performance reports.
Skills & Qualifications
Expert proficiency in QuickBooks
and
Microsoft Excel
(mandatory).
Minimum 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting and financial control.
Strong understanding of
eCommerce operations
and online marketplace ecosystems.
Proven experience in
A/P, A/R, G/L reconciliations, payroll, and inventory accounting
.
Knowledge of
GAAP
and compliance with government remittances and installments.
Exceptional
accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills
.
Strong
problem-solving abilities
with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Highly organized, dependable, and self-motivated.
