Job Description

The Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC), based in Port Coquitlam, is seeking a detail-oriented professional with a background in finance. Working under the supervision of the Financial Administrator, the successful candidate will work independently to input, analyze, and report financial data with precision and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations



Address day-to-day financial inquiries and maintain accurate records Process accounts payable and receivable: track purchase orders, invoices, payments, and overdue accounts Maintain strong vendor and client relationships Update and process payroll, including time sheets and payroll deductions Perform bank and credit card reconciliations Take financial deposits to bank Prepare month-end reconciliation reports and assist with annual audits Balance and reconcile apprentice tuition payments Prepare and submit annual T2202 forms for students

Administrative Support



Assist with travel arrangements and manage meeting schedules and calendars Process and verify documents for accuracy; format and proofread correspondence Manage and coordinate multiple calendars Maintain confidential staff records in the internal database Provide reception relief if needed: respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person Process payments in person and over the phone using a Point-of-Sale system

Experience:



Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a financial role with working knowledge of Sage 300 (preferred) Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role Familiarity with the trades and unionized construction industry is considered an asset

Highly motivated and quick learner that takes initiatives Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Proven ability to prioritize work assignments and perform multiple tasks efficiently, while dealing with frequent interruptions Adaptable and positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with all levels within the organization Demonstrate ability to communicate courteously and effectively in writing, in person and on the telephone Commitment to continual learning and a drive for intellectual curiosity to innovate and improve Proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe
