Position Purpose
The Financial Analyst will be part of a growing team at the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). As a key team member, this position will focus on accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and general ledger review, while supporting the department's processes, assisting with analysis, and providing operational support. In addition, the Financial Analyst will work closely with internal departments to resolve discrepancies, helping ensure the integrity and efficiency of day-to-day financial activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee refunds, credit notes, and invoicing, ensuring accurate accounting entries.
Monitor and process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely follow up on outstanding payments and promptly resolving any discrepancies.
Conduct monthly, and daily balancing of accounts, including general ledger review, bank and other reconciliations, while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with accounting standards.
Support internal departments in resolving discrepancies, inquiries, and manual corrections.
Update and maintain financial process documentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Provide operational support, including accounts payable and expenses. Cross-train on various tasks and provide coverage during vacation periods to ensure continuity.
Represent Your ACSA's brand consistently and professionally, while demonstrating integrity, honesty, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
+ Post-secondary degree, diploma/certificate in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Experience:
+ 3 - 5 years of related experience. Required skills and abilities:
+ Proficient in Sage 300 for managing financial data, processing transactions, and generating financial reports.
+ Extensive knowledge of accounts receivable processes.
+ Competent in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
+ Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
+ Ability to work independently as a strong and contributing member in a team environment.
+ Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
+ Excels at creative thinking and problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail.
Logistics
This position requires a 37.5-hour work week.
This role is eligible for a hybrid work model (ACSA Edmonton office).
This role reports to the Finance and Accounting Manager.
Salary: $66,039 +
