The Opportunity:
We're seeking a reliable and driven
Financial Accountant
to support our growing finance operations. Reporting directly to the
Director of Finance
, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, enabling informed decision-making, and building systems that scale with us. This role is best suited for someone who is hands-on, highly proactive, and ready to roll up their sleeves--someone who takes initiative, thrives in fast-paced environments, and does what it takes to get the job done right.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily accounting tasks including journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Prepare internal reports and help track key financial metrics
Collaborate with the Director of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory filings, and tax obligations
Contribute to the improvement and automation of financial processes and systems
Step in wherever needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly
Support cross-functional teams with financial input or reporting on special projects as needed
Participate in the implementation of new systems, controls, or workflows as the company grows
Take on additional assignments and responsibilities as required to support business needs
Qualifications:
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience; background in a technology-focused or high-growth company is a strong asset
Solid grasp of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting principles
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Zoho, QuickBooks) and spreadsheet tools (Excel or Google Sheets)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
A self-starter who takes ownership, solves problems independently, and follows through
CPA designation is an asset
