Financial Analyst

Under the direction of the Controller, the Financial Analyst will support the organization with the provision of monthly cost analysis that actively challenges the business, the development and tracking/interpreting of KPIs, proactive identification of business opportunities for cost savings/revenue generation and assist with new projects and ad hoc analysis. They will support the month end financial close process accordingly, along with providing year end support to external auditors/accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver monthly cost analysis as it relates to operations, marketing, and leasing departments. Develop, track & interpret KPIs to give a clear understanding of departmental performance. Provide variance analysis to departmental actual results compared to budgets. Proactively identify and recommend process improvements, cost saving opportunities. Assist with new project business case analysis and ROI calculations on post implementation. Contribute ideas and participate in development projects to enhance revenue or reduce costs. Provide ad hoc analysis as needed.

Education and Experience:

Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Commerce, Finance and/or Accounting. 1-2 years of accounting experience in Residential property management preferred. 2+ years experience, preferably as a financial or project analyst. Ability to perform analysis and present information with clear conclusions, and recommendations. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Power Platform - eg. Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate. High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts. Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines. * Excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
