Financial Analyst Intern
through the
Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) People & Talent Program
.
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in financial management within a dynamic and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will work closely with our financial and property management teams on a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Financial analysis and job costing
: Track project and maintenance expenses, analyze variances, and prepare financial reports
Bookkeeping and invoicing
: Maintain accurate financial records, process accounts receivable/payable
Budget tracking and forecasting
: Assist with budget monitoring, financial modeling, and performance forecasting
Rent payment tracking and collections
: Monitor tenant accounts, follow up on arrears, and record payments
Work order processing and cost control
: Process and verify maintenance and repair orders, ensure alignment with budgets
LTB documentation and compliance
: Prepare and track financial records related to Landlord and Tenant Board filings and regulatory matters
Resource scheduling and planning
: Support internal scheduling for maintenance, tenant services, and project execution
Assist with internal financial operations
: Contribute to process improvement, data management, and system optimization initiatives
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary education (completed or in progress) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial software platforms
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting
Ability to work with sensitive financial data and maintain confidentiality
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Valid Class G driver's licence and clean driver's abstract are required
NOHFC Eligibility Requirements
This is an NOHFC-sponsored internship under the People & Talent Program. Applicants must:
Be new entrants to the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed and entering a new field
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Reside in Northern Ontario for the duration of the placement
