What you\'ll do

Reporting to the Manager, Forecasting and Planning the Financial Analyst will be focused on the support of a group of internal clients. This position will provide the opportunity to further develop several key competencies including, but not limited to, communication with clients, teamwork, analytical capability and problems solving skills.

  • Provide support to business by monitoring results versus budget/ forecast and providing thorough analysis and investigating variances while identifying risks and opportunities with a focus on providing meaningful/actionable insights.
  • Prepare and analyze month end review presentations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes within the team to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Complete a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.
  • Review key performance metrics (financial and business metrics) to improve existing reports and develop new reports.
  • Foster strong working relationships across the businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner.
  • Optimize tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy, include driving the design of automation for the business.
  • Coordinates inputs, administration, reconciliation of the various plans in the budget system.

What you bring
  • University degree or College diploma in Finance/Accounting or business-related discipline.
  • Accounting or Finance designation (CPA - CA, CGA, CMA or CFA) completed or in progress is an asset.
  • 2 years experience in a medium to large retail corporate in a Forecasting and Planning role.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently, communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects and drive key business results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong time management and self-management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or independently (including virtually).
  • Self-starter attitude with willingness to learn and master new technologies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with using Hyperion Planning & HFM, Peoplesoft and PMM software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
