Dovre Canada Limited is pleased to offer the following opportunity: Financial Analyst, located in Halifax, NS

Function

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and serving as an integral member of the finance team, the Financial Analyst will be working closely with the finance team and operations to provide analysis on period end results, prepare financial forecasts, and assist with annual budget and strategic planning activities. In addition, the Financial Analyst will be expected to bring energy and creativity to the identification of financial analysis and reporting opportunities. The role requires a strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in a fast paced, high growth organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare various financial reporting products for internal and external customers
  • Analyze and monitor financial results, incorporating variance analyses and identify risks and opportunities
  • Participate in the strategic planning, annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and quarterly review processes
  • Provide value-added financial and business partnering support
  • Ad hoc analysis, reporting and special projects as required
Requirements

Education:
  • Business degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA Accounting Designation or working towards CPA designation considered an asset
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience combining data from multiple sources
  • Cognos, Cognos TM1 and Tableau experience considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret data
  • Ability to plan and execute responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Self-motivated to achieve above average results
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Shipbuilding, large project, or manufacturing knowledge an asset
