Job Description


We are looking for a Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.Role Description
Our client is looking for a Financial Analyst. The main functions of a financial analyst are to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.Responsibilities:

  • MD&A Analysis including Downstream Supplemental
  • Income Analysis (Operating Cost and Capital)
  • Quarterly Reporting Segment Review
  • External reporting support for Planning, Downstream management team and refining consolidation.
  • Annual external reporting
  • Board package support
  • AIF Review
  • Gross Margin and market capture analysis Communication and coordination with the site teams and corporate support functions to maintain standardization and governance.
  • Build and maintain dashboards in various platforms such as SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Reporting validation and support
  • Travel required (10-20%)
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance, commerce, or Economics. CPA and/or MBA is preferred
  • Ability to conduct deep analysis, digitalize reports, creating and developing repeatable
and standardized business processes * 5 years of financial experience
  • Understanding of Downstream operations and manufacturing
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient use of SAP and Business Warehouse
  • Ability to digitalize data using platforms such as SharePoint and Power BI
  • Strong Financial Acumen
  • Strong understanding of refinery operations, marketing or trading.
  • Strong analytical skills in modelling and financial analysis
  • Strong ability to lead through influence.
  • Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Ability to foster and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
