Financial Administrator



We are currently seeking a Financial Administrator to join our team on a part-time basis (three days per week, 21 hours per week) based out of Calgary or Edmonton (Hybrid or remote work option available). This role is key to ensuring the financial health and integrity of our organization, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term sustainability.

The Financial Administrator will work closely with the Executive Director to operate KidSport Alberta. This position is vital to the success of the KidSport program in communities across Alberta.

Qualifications



The candidate should have a passion for sport and believe in the life-long benefits that kids get from participating. Ideally, the candidate will have 5+ years work experience in bookkeeping and accounting.

In addition, we will be looking for as many of the following skills and attributes as possible:

Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) or equivalent experience. Experience with Microsoft Xero accounting platform Experience with non-profit organizations and volunteers (KidSport chapter treasurers) Experience with online donation platforms and online application platforms (Frontstream, Artez, etc.) Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with AGLC reporting, raffle licenses Knowledge of CRA charitable sector expectations Knowledge of Payroll platforms (Dayforce Powerpay or similar) Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Outstanding organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment

Core Responsibilities

o Processing entrieso Accounts payable/receivableo Month-end and year-end adjustmentso Process expense claimso Account and bank reconciliationso Coordinate payroll and benefits programso Assist chapter volunteer treasurerso Assist in preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and comparison/analysis to actualso Annual provincial and national audit preparation

o Manage online donation platformo Determine eligibility for tax receipts and issue tax receipts for offline donationso Review third party agreements for Alberta chapters

o Manage KidSport Alberta Provincial Fund cheque / EFT disbursements to sport clubs

o Workers Compensation Board Reportingo Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission Financial Reportingo Administrative Support to the Executive Director
