The Financial Administrator plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be proficient in financial software, enabling them to support the organization's financial health effectively.
Responsibilities
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, unearned revenue, revenue, and all financial entries.
Keeping accurate financial records
Develop and maintain financial controls.
Analyze, compile, and prepare financial summaries for management, funders, and accountants.
Exceptional familiarity with Sage accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial tools.
Capacity to analyze financial data and identify trends by contract.
Ensuring compliance with all financial policies and regulations
Ability to manage complex financial data and maintain order in a busy environment.
Communication effectively with management and funders including facilitating requests and performance of financial audits.
Maintain financial records and ensure accuracy in bookkeeping.
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reports.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and service partners.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
CPA designation is preferred with at least a degree in business, finance, and accounting.
Minimum 6 months hands on experience in a similar environment is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Solid knowledge of federal/provincial regulations, including CRA tax compliance and WorkSafe BC reporting requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective interpersonal, communication skills.
