About the Role
The
Financial Accountant
will be responsible for the accounting activities within the Financial Reporting Team. Core duties include balance sheet and bank reconciliations, cash flow reporting, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, audit file preparation, monthly tax remittances, annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts, preparation of consolidated financial statements, consolidation entries, and deferred income tax schedules.

What to Expect in Your First 3-6 Months
First 3 Months:
Develop a strong understanding of the Financial Reporting team's accounting functions.
Complete training on balance sheet reconciliations and gain familiarity with accounts and transactions.
Complete training on cash flow reporting and monthly bank reconciliations.
Learn month-end closing and reporting requirements.
Gain understanding of different types of month-end journal entries.
Learn the customized Dynamics GP settings and apply these skills when preparing reconciliations.
Handle monthly tax remittances.
Complete training on PP&E and intangibles schedules.
Complete training on commission & bonus calculations.
First 6 Months:
Learn the accounting functions and reporting requirements for different entities.
Train on quarterly reporting and reforecasting.
Support annual budgeting.
Assist with annual audit file preparation.
Prepare weekly cash reporting.
Manage daily banking and bank reconciliations.
Prepare month-end journal entries.
Perform balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
Handle tax remittances.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and financial statements.
Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting.
Prepare quarterly PP&E and intangibles schedules.
Prepare quarterly tax schedules.
Prepare fixed assets schedules for various entities.
Complete quarterly bonus calculations.

Annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting

Daily deposits and postings in Sage Intacct
What We're Looking For
Completion of a degree or diploma in accounting
Minimum 3 years in an intermediate accounting or similar role
At least 5 years of overall accounting experience
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end closing (asset)
Experience with Sage Intacct (asset)
Experience in group benefits industry (asset)

Compensation
At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $63,000-68,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass the comprehensive total rewards package that we proudly offer.
