Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable

Financial Accountant

to support the month-end close, reporting, and analysis activities across all corporate support functions (Finance, IT, HR, and Procurement). This temporary role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting audits, and enhancing visibility through dashboards and variance analysis.



This is a onsite 5 days a week, contract role for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Location: Scarborough, ON

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Reporting

Prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and complete variance analysis. Address month-end inquiries and provide ad hoc support as needed. Support audit requests and assist with the annual budgeting process.

Labour & Spend Analysis

Conduct monthly labour analysis (FTE and dollar tracking) across the organization. Perform monthly spend analysis, including variance reviews, journal entries, and corrections. Collaborate with the business to coordinate reporting and provide training on established processes.

IT Project Reporting

Prepare monthly reporting on IT projects in collaboration with IT Project Managers. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of IT project financial tracking and communication.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong technical accounting background with experience in

month-end close and journal entries

. Proven ability in

variance analysis, reporting, and audit preparation

. Proficiency with financial systems and Excel (dashboard/reporting experience an asset). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across functions and train stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to manage ad hoc requests.
