Job Summary:



The Senior Inventory Analyst is responsible for recording and maintaining the company's inventory in alignment with IFRS standards, internal policies, and the corporate control framework. The Senior Inventory Analyst will support accurate inventory accounting, ensure compliance, and drive improvements in inventory management practices.



Responsibilities:

Inventory Data Management:



Maintain and update price lists, ensuring accuracy and adherence to corporate standards.

Inventory Reconciliation & Reporting:



Reconcile month-end inventory balances to the general ledger, prepare related journal entries, and investigate discrepancies. Track and record bio asset entries, fair value less cost to sell (FVLCS), and unrealized gains on growing plants. Prepare quarterly biological asset workbooks and compliance with internal control frameworks and prepare notes for financial statements related to bio assets, including unrealized gain on harvests and transfers to finished goods

Inventory Adjustments, Allowances & Variance Management:



Manage adjustments related to obsolete inventory and plant assets, ensuring accurate recording of changes. Oversee variance analysis related to normal waste and obsolete inventory, allocating adjustments to COGS (Cost of Goods Sold). Oversee low specification adjustments and ensure timely processing of adjustments as needed. Support variance adjustments for inventory, including packaging, cultivation, and manufacturing department allocations

Internal Controls & Compliance:



Assist with the enhancement and maintenance of internal controls related to inventory management practices. Participate in the financial audit, internal control audits, and tax filing processes as required. Run inventory closing and adjustments at period-end.

Physical Inventory & Process Improvement:



Assist with conducting physical inventory counts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls. Collaborate with the FP&A team on standard cost input for finished goods and bulk items, as well as new product setups. Assist in process improvements to enhance inventory management, reduce inefficiencies, and mitigate control deficiencies

Skills & Qualifications:



Degree in Business Administration, Commerce (Accounting/Finance), or a related field. CPA designation or the intention to pursue one is considered an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail, with strong communication and listening skills. Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a rapidly changing work environment. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative in financial reporting responsibilities. Strong team player with a professional approach to collaboration within the finance team and across departments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
