Association for New Canadians is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees. Job Title: Finance Officer Location: St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, NL Position Type: 1 full-time position Closing Date: March 17, 2023 Reporting to the Director of Finance, the FinanceOfficer has a wide range of duties including accounting tasks to supporting the Association with purchasing, travel claims and liaising with vendors to meet the needs of the organization. This position requires compliance with standard accounting principles and the Association\xe2\x80\x99s practices. Role and Responsibilities
Prepare daily accounting and bookkeeping functions including but not limited to processing accountings payable invoices and payments to vendors
Complete month end journal entries
Perform biweekly payroll processing using SAGE 300
Prepare payroll remittances including CRA and employee benefit remittances
Preparation of ROE\xe2\x80\x99s, T4\xe2\x80\x99s, WHSCC annual returns and GST/HST submissions
Preparation of bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of statistical, financial, and accounting reports
Various administrative tasks and other related duties pertaining to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s financial operations.
Qualifications and Experience
University or a college diploma in accounting
Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an accounting position and Payroll
Advanced Knowledge of current payroll practices, procedures, and legislation
Excellent computer skills; strong skills in Sage 300 and Microsoft Office
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and provincial/federal regulations
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Conditions of Employment
Flexibility to work outside of standard core hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)
Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
