Position Overview:

The Finance Officer supports OCCSC's financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with CRA regulations and funder requirements. This position is ideal for a finance professional who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking for career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Manage grant and funder financial reporting. Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with charitable regulations. Oversee payroll and benefits administration. Support staff in financial procedures and budget monitoring.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation (or in progress) preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of financial management experience (non-profit experience preferred). Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software; strong Excel skills. Knowledge of CRA requirements for registered charities. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to OCCSC's mission and values.

Assets:

Experience with government grant financial reporting.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience ($53,000-$63,000 per year). Benefits: Health and dental coverage, hybrid work options, professional development support. Job Type: Full-time, fixed-term contract. Work Location: Hybrid remote, based in Ottawa, ON (K2P 2H8). Expected Start Date: November 1, 2025.
