Overview

Our not-for-profit organization is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations like the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly financial statements and reports, manage organizational budget, monitor cash flow, develop internal financial controls
Accounting Functions:

Process accounts payable and receivable, manage QuickBooks financial tracking, prepare donor financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards
Payroll Management:

Process staff payroll, ensure timely salary payments, maintain payroll transaction records
Audit Support:

Assist with internal and external audits, prepare audit documentation, ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance 3-5 years professional financial experience Proficiency in QuickBooks Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:

Professional accounting certification (CPA/ACCA) Master's degree in Finance Previous NGO/research organization experience

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
