Job Description

Overview
Our client, a leading insurance organization, is seeking a Financial Manager for a permanent role. This position will focus on regulatory filings, financial statement preparation, and supporting IFRS 17 reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and experience working in insurance or financial services.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit Bermuda filings and P&C filings to OSFI and other regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with preparation of notes to the financial statements.
  • Complete various government filings in accordance with deadlines and requirements.
  • Handle FAC (Facultative Reinsurance) premiums and recoveries and support related reporting.
  • Assist with P&C (Property & Casualty) preparation and related reconciliations.
  • Perform IFRS 17 data loads and IFRS reconciliations.
  • Provide audit support, including gathering data, preparing schedules, and responding to audit requests.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (OSFI, P&C, government filings).
  • Familiarity with IFRS 17 reporting, reconciliations, and data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; strong technical accounting background is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
