Job Description


We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of our client's established and continually growing group of companies in Dartmouth, NS. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial support across multiple business units.
This is a key leadership role, ideal for a professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and contributing to business growth through strong financial management.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Oversee the full finance function for the group, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and consolidated financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance indicators
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes across all companies
  • Support senior management with financial analysis, strategic planning, and decision-making
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, promoting accuracy, efficiency, and professional development
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and financial efficiency
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's degree is an advantage)
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role
  • Experience managing finances for multiple entities or within a group structure is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, taxation, and compliance
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Dedicated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
