We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to lead the Hyatt Place Toronto Mississauga Centre & Luxe Convention Centre.

Your Role
As the
Finance Controller
, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in reporting and decision-making. You will provide strategic financial guidance to the General Manager while upholding Hyatt's values of accountability, respect, and collaboration.
Salary Range for the position will be CA$ 75,000 - CA$ 85,000
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all property accounting and financial reporting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and forecasts in compliance with Hyatt standards.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes, by line of business, to support business decisions.
Ensure full compliance with
provincial and federal taxation requirements
, including preparation and submission of corporate, HST/sales, and Income tax returns, including preparation and submission of corporate, HST, and Income tax returns.
Maintain robust
internal financial controls
across all hotel departments, ensuring compliance with policies and safeguarding of assets.
Provide financial insights to the Ownership, General Manager and department heads to optimize operational performance.
Analyzing and controlling the hotel's operating costs, identifying opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
Track
debt servicing obligations
, including loan repayments, interest schedules, and compliance with lender covenants.
Manage
the FF&E reserve in coordination with Ownership and property leadership
to preserve capital and enhance returns without undue risk.
Consolidate
property-level financial results with corporate accounts
to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with ownership objectives
Supervise and develop accounting team members, as required, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Analyzing contracts with suppliers, partners and other external companies on legal aspects and compliance rules.
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by Ownership and/or General Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in the hospitality industry.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel PMS and ERP systems (e.g., Opera/Oracle) a plus.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a collaborative mindset.
Ability to outline financial strategy, provide strategic insights, and make data-driven recommendations
