Our client, a leading private equity investment firm, is seeking a Finance Manager / M& A Specialist to join its high-performing team. This hybrid role, based in downtown Vancouver, will start as a contract position with the potential to convert to permanent. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firm's finance and transaction functions, contributing to strategic initiatives and driving continued growth across its diversified portfolio.
Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior leadership to oversee and evaluate the performance of existing portfolio companies.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial results to provide insights on portfolio performance.
• Deliver regular updates and analytical support to the Board, highlighting key financial and operational trends.
• Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis to inform strategic decision-making and improve business outcomes.
• Lead the development of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts for operating entities.
• Translate strategic direction from the Board into actionable plans for portfolio operations.
• Maintain strong financial governance by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity in reporting and decision-making.
• Perform industry and market research to support investment evaluations and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to enhance and streamline reporting and financial processes.
• Support M& A activities, including valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
• Collaborate with tax teams to optimize transaction structures and assess financial implications.
• Coordinate with legal counsel and stakeholders in the drafting and review of agreements.
• Assess broader stakeholder impacts, including those related to minority shareholders and lenders.
• Oversee team members to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and within established timelines.
• Contribute to other ad hoc initiatives and projects related to deals and portfolio management.

Requirements:
Requirements:
Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
M& A experience, including working with external advisors (e.g., tax specialists, legal counsel).
Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent skills in Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables.
Proven ability to work independently and proactively in a hybrid work environment.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
Experience in investment firms or related financial services is considered an asset.
