Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Services, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Finance department with accounts payable, accounts receivable and other accounting activities relating to the Yukon Hospital Corporation (YHC).

Knowledge and skills required for this position:

  • Knowledge of Accounting/Bookkeeping practices and procedures, along with basic knowledge of accounting theory
  • Good knowledge of computerized accounting systems
  • Good knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Suites)
  • Good knowledge of various filing systems
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a cross - cultural environment
  • Ability to take directions from more than one source
The successful applicant will have Accounting/Bookkeeping Certificate or Diploma and Accounts Receivable Payable and/or Accounting /Bookkeeping experience (minimum of 1 year).

An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
