We have an immediate opening for a full time Finance Clerk (Term Position) to join our Finance Team in our Sagkeeng office.
The appointee supports the Director of Finance in ensuring the payroll and benefit processing is in compliance with applicable provincial regulations and according to company policies.
The Finance Clerk is responsible for providing efficient and accurate financial and administrative services in order to support our agency's operations. This role includes data entry, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, and other assigned tasks. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and is able to work independently and within a team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for payment of all invoices and ensures that all entries are entered on to the appropriate ledger card/journals
Ensures foster maintenance, payroll for all staff, travel claims and accounts receivables are processed as per schedule
Applies for Child Tax Credit Benefits when a child comes into care as well as cancelled when child exits care of the Agency.
Responsible for bank deposits, band reconciliations, general ledger, accounts receivable and trial balance
Ensures all entries are applied to children's files before the monthly billing is to be completed
Ensures all Payment Authorizations (PA's) are completed, signed and filed in numerical order by month.
Responsible for monthly billings to INAC and the Province by the 15th of each month.
Ensures payments are made to the Receiver General, Manulife Financial, Great West Life and other receivers by the 10th of each month; or as noted by the immediate Supervisor
Responsible for opening and closing financial files of children in care.
Responsible for ordering of finance office supplies as needed.
Maintains confidential records and files in accordance with the Provincial Standards and Regulations.
Qualifications
Proven work experience as a Finance Clerk
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial transactions
Familiarity with financial regulations
Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
Proficiency in MS Office, databases and financial software
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field

Pay: $62,244.00-$71,832.00 per year
