is an Indigenous cultural, educational, and creative arts institution located in Penticton, British Columbia. It serves as a hub for Nsyilxc?n language revitalization, Indigenous knowledge, and community development. The Centre offers post-secondary programs, arts training, and cultural initiatives that strengthen Okanagan (Syilx) identity and heritage. Its mission is to empower Indigenous peoples through education, creativity, and cultural continuity.
Theytus Books Ltd
. is Canada's oldest Indigenous-owned and operated publishing house, dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices and perspectives. Founded in 1980, it publishes works that celebrate and preserve Indigenous knowledge, stories, and worldviews. The company produces fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children's books by First Nations, Metis, and Inuit authors. Through its publishing, Theytus Books promotes cultural understanding, reconciliation, and the power of Indigenous storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
OIERS
Enter vouchers, honoraria, invoices, travel, MasterCard, employee, faculty, and board reimbursements, and outstanding bills into SAGE.
Process payments via EFT and prepare cheques for approval.
Post and verify accounts payable (AP) transactions.
Handle customer inquiries regarding payables, receivables, and invoices.
Perform filing and general administrative duties.
Enter payroll for all staff and faculty.
Prepare and record bank deposits.
Create and manage purchase orders (POs).
Obtain quotes and coordinate special orders.
Manage office supplies, coffee, and laundry needs.
Coordinate ordering items (e.g., soil, groundcover).
Support audit preparation as needed.
Monitor bookings for the Centre to ensure efficient operations.
Maintain a proactive, positive, and professional attitude to ensure smooth daily operations.
Additional tasks as assigned by Manager
Theytus

Enter payroll for staff and faculty.
Perform monthly tracking of inventory sales (internal and consignment).
Perform monthly tracking of royalties.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Process customer refunds through Moneris.

Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience with accounting software (e.g.,
SAGE
) and EFT processing.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
A positive, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.
