The Middle Office Loan Trading team supports the settlement process of primary / secondary loan trades and loan TRS, including all funding and documentation matters and is responsible for providing daily operational support to the Sales and Loan Trading desk.
Respond to counterparties inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.
Booking and execution of Loans: including but is not limited to the following: * Design spreadsheets, pivot tables and macros to automate the workflow.
Work closely with the trading desk, clients, legal counsel and operations teams to settle primary, secondary and distressed loan trades for USA and UK desks. Distressed trades will require liaising with external legal counsel and extra vigilance during the life cycle of the trade
Create trades and confirm the details of trades created in ClearPar match trader\'s browser in Star
Prepare and review the LSTA/LMA standard documents including Trade Confirms, Assignment Agreements, Participation agreements, Multilateral Agreements, and Purchase Sales Agreements for Distressed Trades.
Coordinate among counterparts and administrative agents, the review and execution of all trade documents necessary for closing in a timely manner within the LSTA and LMA timeframes.
Prepare and review pricing prior to settlement according to the LSTA and LMA definitions.
Prepare closing package for BPSS
Report status of unsettled trades and key risk indicators to management weekly
Monitor and manage high volumes of loan closings, update status for each trade, perform reconciliations between Star and Sentry and ClearPar and Star. Escalate any potential delay with trade settlement.
Monitor and apply corporate events in Star for both unsettled and settled trades.
Investigate and resolve closing and transactional breaks/issues in a timely manner.
Monitor trader\xe2\x80\x99s position between Star and Sentry.
Communicate and escalate any trade issues to management and the trading desk
Read and interpret Credit Agreements, Amendments, and understand the terms and conditions for both LSTA and LMA.
Participate in weekly team meeting with supervisor in UK/New York
Take part in different projects under the supervision of Manager
Contribute directly to the Permanent Operational Control by identifying operational risks
Preparing of Non-Disclosure Agreements and distribution of confidential information if in UK group.
Training of new joiners.
Assistance creating and updating procedures and video trainings.
Staying up to date with market changes and sharing knowledge with the team. The AVP requires strong communication skills as the closer communicates with front office in New York and London. The closer also communicates with counterparties and administrative agents, banks, and dealers in North America and Europe to coordinate the settlement of outstanding trades. Sometimes the position requires to educate certain counterparties that are not familiar with the ClearPar setup.
AVP will share appropriate information proactively with individuals or teams which will benefit from shared knowledge. AVP will be able to detect the audience\'s level of background knowledge, identifies the most adapted and relevant teaching aids and ensures knowledge is well understood.
