Current Rate of Pay: Min $38.47- Max $48.07
Current Shifts: Days, 8 hour shifts
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Patient Accounts and Revenue Optimization, the Finance Analyst works collaboratively with the Finance Team, Payroll, Decision Support, Materials Management and the Leadership Team of Guelph General Hospital.
The Finance Analyst collaborates with peer analysts to support clinical & support programs, reports on Ministry of Health (MOH) funded operating programs, responsible for timely and accurate financial statement creation and analysis and uses a quality improvement focus to improve accounting processes within the department and across the hospital.
The Finance Analyst provides a leadership role for Finance clerks, supervising Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable daily/monthly duties. Responsible for planning, leading and implementing quality improvement and best practices within the department.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline
  • Accounting knowledge either by formal education or training, an accounting designation would be an asset
  • Minimum 2 years relevant financial analysis experience, preferably in the healthcare sector
  • Demonstrated experience in a computerized financial systems environment (Meditech preferred).
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to multitask, along with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting critical deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated excellence in decision making and critical thinking to perform detailed analytical analysis, identify problems, and recommend/implement solutions to reflect process improvements
  • Effective team player with demonstrated success in working well with various groups of both internal and external clients
  • Well organized in terms of providing clear paper/electronic documentation trails that are easy to follow
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and provide guidance to junior finance staff
