Royal Furniture Ltd. manufactures sofas, loveseats, and chairs for major Canadian retailers. We run a fast, quality-first production line in Calgary.

The role

You are the last stop on the assembly line and the first step in packing. You'll perform the final inspection on finished upholstery, complete minor final assembly, clean/steam as needed, and sign off before each piece is protected, packed, and shipped.

What you'll do

Inspect every finished sofa/loveseat/chair for fabric/leather flaws, seams, alignments, legs, mechanisms, and overall fit & finish. Clean, lint-roll, and steam pieces; remove marks and prep for "showroom-ready" presentation. Install small final components on sectionals (e.g., brackets, legs, clips) using hand tools and a cordless drill. Verify labels, SKUs, hardware bags, and documentation; photograph and complete QC checklist. Red-tag defects and return items to the upholsterer with clear notes; track rework to closure. Protect, wrap, and pack units to standard (foam, corner boards, poly, cartons, strapping). Keep a clean, organized 5S work area; follow safety procedures and PPE requirements. Hit daily targets for first-pass yield and on-time pack-outs; escalate issues early.

What you bring

1+ year in furniture, cabinet, millwork, warehouse assembly, or quality inspection (upholstery experience is a plus). Comfortable with drills, drivers, staple guns, and steamers (we'll train on our standards). Sharp eye for detail; you notice wrinkles, misaligned seams, loose threads, and finish defects. Physically able to lift/move 50-75 lb with a partner; stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift. Reliable, organized, and clear communicator; basic English required.

Nice to have

Upholstery shop experience, lean/5S familiarity, forklift/pallet jack.

Schedule & compensation

Monday-Friday day shift (approx. 6:30am-3:00 pm); occasional OT as needed on the weekend as required. $15.00-$17.00 per hour + attendance bonus. PPE and training provided.

Location

On-site at our Calgary, AB facility.
