BASIC PURPOSE

To ensure all assigned welding or mechanical related tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with a high level of quality, using safe work practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES

Utilizes safe work practices and promote safety policies to others. Must maintain a clean and safe work area. Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, skidsteer, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and power tools. Experienced in material take offs. Can read and understand blueprints and implement their directions. Consistently provides high quality welds and work. Experienced in safe methods of hoisting and rigging. Able to teach and grow less experienced workers and apprentices. Owns basic trade tools and takes care of company supplied tools. Able to work occasional overtime during the week and weekends if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions and strives to meet customer needs in a creative and safe manner. Excellent communication skills, good attitude and willing to learn. Appropriate level of experience as welder or industrial mechanic. Enrolled in Apprenticeship program. Journeyman status is an asset. Possesses current first aid certificate.

Valid driver's license is a requirement.

Understands welding principles and applies them.

CWB certificate - All position stick required minimum.

Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and maintenance of oxy-acetylene. Knowledge and ability to assemble and commission mechanical systems is an asset. Ability to install, examine, diagnose, and adjust various types of industrial and mechanical equipment is an asset. Understanding of grain handling equipment, food plants, piping is an asset.

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
