The Position
WRE
is looking for a positive self motivated High Voltage Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team in
Port Coquitlam
. The candidate must be willing to relocate, have a minimum of 5-years electrical experience and an excellent command of both verbal and written English.

Relocation Assistance
Responsibilities:
Working on high, medium, and low voltage power apparatus.
Ability to execute comprehensive testing, commissioning and system analysis of electrical equipment.
Electrical and Protection testing.
Maintenance, repairs, technical reports and technical support.
Mentorship and development of more junior employees.
Operate various types of electrical test equipment such as Doble Power Factor, Insulation & Winding Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR), Fall of Potential, Breaker Timing, AC / DC High-pot, VLF and Response Analysis (SFRA).
Substation protection and control.
Ensure customer contract compliance, timelines and satisfaction.
Promptly analyze and identify corrective action plans in response to customer needs.
Able to read prints and drawings, identify isolation points, perform lockout, test and ground the equipment you are working on in order to complete the work safely.
Ensures compliance with applicable local, national, international standards and legislation, as well as customer requirements with regard to safety, employment and environment.
Skills & Experience:
Proven electrical field service experience in transformers, HV, MV, LV breakers and switchgear, cables, disconnects, protective relays, oiling, substations, commissioning, instrument transformers, PRG testing and battery bank.
Extensive experience in industrial and utility settings.
Technological or Electrical Engineering background.
An understanding of Gas in Oil Analysis and the processing of transformer oil.
Journeyperson Electrician credentials an asset.
Completion of Electrical Technologist and or Engineering diploma an asset.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License, Class 1 license an asset.
Experience in Protection and Control systems.
A solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, time management and execution skills.
Proficient in the use of in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Flexible to travel out of town with overnight stay as required
Working Conditions:
Ability to travel on a regular basis, work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends and overtime as required.
Attend emergency callouts on short notice.

Pay: $68.28-$85.58 per hour
