BAADER a leading global manufacturer of food processing equipment. We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in Canada servicing our customers in the Fish Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance, installation and repair services to our clients. The candidate will train plant personnel on adjustments, start-ups, and maintenance of equipment.
Responsibilities
Supervise and assist plant personnel and contractors with the installation of BAADER equipment.
Supervise and assist plant personnel and contractor with the repair, modification, or adjustment of BAADER equipment.
Train plant personnel regarding maintenance, repair, operation, and adjustment of equipment.
Troubleshoot and discuss equipment issues with maintenance and plant personnel.
Discuss upgrades, new equipment, advantages/disadvantages with BAADER personnel and customers when appropriate.
Expand knowledge of BAADER equipment through OJT, manuals, working with manufacturing and other.
Provide assistance to R&D when installing/testing new equipment.
Travel to customer facilities (national and international).
Complete various reports and information requests on a timely basis.
Review and discuss competitor's equipment, customer's needs, pricing, and other items with BAADER management.
Develop customer relationships and contacts.
Perform equipment rebuilds, assembly, or other tasks in BAADER facility when necessary.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
High school diploma.
Minimum Years of Experience:
At least one year experience in a machine maintenance capacity.
Level I - up to 3 years maintenance experience. Learning BAADER equipment, work typically is reviewed or limited.
Level II - at least 3 years' experience in a maintenance capacity on equipment similar to BAADER. Considered an "expert" on at least one piece of equipment and/or conducts work with little or no instruction/supervision on up to 5 major product lines. Capable of solving common problems and implementing solutions. Provides training to maintenance personnel on adjustments and common repairs.
Level III - over 3 years of experience with BAADER equipment and is proficient on at least 50% of BAADER equipment. Work is performed without guidance, solves uncommon problems, and provides direction to solve problems. Trains other Technicians, provides/implements improved processes. Must meet knowledge test requirements.
Level IV - understands/solves most technical issues with BAADER equipment. Provides solutions for the uncommon issues, communicates complicated issues with customers, promotes equipment, and supervises other technicians during complicated situations.
Minimum Skills Required (language, math, reasoning):
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, shop drawings and equipment/tool operation instructions.
Familiar with welding, air/vac flow systems, plumbing and basic electricity.
Ability to discuss technical issues with coworkers and customers and impart understanding of machine requirements.
Ability to direct work without creating conflict.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve moderately difficult problems with clear alternatives to choose from.
Ability to create simple reports and conduct simple math.
Ability to Use:
Various hand tools.
Measurement tools such as rulers, measuring tapes, calipers etc.
Various power tools such as drills and saws.
Forklift, overhead hoist, and hydraulic lifts.
Computer (and related software), telephone and typical office equipment.
Welding equipment - Tig and Rod
Must be willing to travel 150+ days per year.
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
