The
Field Service Technician II
is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment at customer sites. They ensure timely and efficient service delivery, troubleshoot technical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide customer training and support as needed.
This position reports to the Regional Field Service Manager (RFSM) and is part of the Canadian Field Service Team, to be located in Calgary/Edmonton and working
REMOTELY
to cover primarily the province of Alberta and others as required.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide technical service
including installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and refrigeration instruments,
Ensure operational compliance and communication
by documenting service activities per Health Canada, FDA, and Leica policies, and maintaining timely communication with internal teams and external customers to meet expectations.
Demonstrate professionalism and continuous development
by expanding product and application knowledge, representing the company with integrity, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree, college diploma, or undergraduate degree in
Electronics, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering
.
2+ years of hands-on experience
in repairing and maintaining electronic, electro-mechanical, or refrigeration instruments.
Proven technical aptitude and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality service in field environments.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
This position requires up to 80% flying and/or driving travel, which includes overnight stays. Travel will primarily be domestic but may occasionally be international.
Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Prior roles in
regulated laboratory environments
,
medical device servicing
, or
hospital-based technical support
provide strong foundational skills.
Experience as a
Biomedical Engineer
is considered a significant asset due to the overlap in technical expertise and customer-facing service delivery.

The hourly range for this role is CAD30.00- CAD40.00 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
