The Field Service Technician at Clearwave will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting and maintaining Customer (Residential & Business) and Network wireless internet infrastructure. Working directly with clients in the field and the Clearwave Networks Operations Centre, to ensure reliable service delivery, excellent customer service, and support Clearwave's commitment to fast, dependable internet connections. This role requires technical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset. The FST will be comfortable working outside, at heights and on tower systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Installation, repair, and maintenance of customer equipment and network infrastructure within the Clearwave network. This includes rooftop/tower antennae, mounting fixtures, cabling, routers, switchgear, etc.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform diagnostics on wireless systems/radios, routers, and related hardware.
Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing concerns professionally, providing clear communication, schedule changes and ensuring a positive experience throughout the installation or service process.
Collaborate with the operations and support teams to escalate and resolve complex network issues, ensuring timely, concise and courteous communication.
Accurately document inventory changes, service calls, equipment installations, and maintenance activities in Clearwave's repository and CRM system. Provide documentation on a timely basis to MGMT, NOC as required.
Assist with the maintenance of all hardware, tools and installation materials stock/inventory.
Working at heights, predominantly on rooftops and ladders, as well as lifts and telecommunication towers.
Maintain a high standard of safety, compliance, and professionalism in the field.
Work in various outdoor conditions, including cold weather, to ensure reliable service and system uptime.
Stay current on wireless networking technologies, installation standards, and industry best practices.
Participation in all required meetings with punctuality.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience as a Field Services Technician in Telecommunications is an asset.
Climbing and rigging knowledge/experience is an asset.
Technical experience including Telecommunications Networking, WAN & LAN protocols, TCP/IP, and Wireless Technology are assets.
Effective at managing time, tasks, and changing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
Strong focus on customer experience with a professional and approachable attitude.
