Global Analyzer Systems is the premier emissions monitoring service provider in Western Canada. We build, install and maintain emissions monitoring systems, with a full range of regulatory consulting services to help manage and ensure compliance for facilities in a variety of industries. We have an open position for a full-time, reliable, energetic and independent individual to join our team in a Service Manager role, which is an integral role within our growing business. The successful candidate will use their knowledge and unique skillset to help support the steady and reliable operation of our client\xe2\x80\x99s emissions monitoring systems, as well as the continued and long-term development of our growing service team. The selected candidate will be able to multitask and problem solve proficiently, while fostering relationships in ensuring ensure client needs and requirements are met on time and in a professional manner. The Service Manager will report to the Director of CEMS Applications.

  • Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position include:
  • * Service Department Management *
  • Working with the Director of CEMS Applications, ensure all service work is scheduled, completed, and invoiced in a timely manner and reliable manner. Ensure all client communications and deliverables are submitted and accepted by required deadlines.
  • Support the completion of regular forecasts and budgets as required, for work in progress or work projected, relative to the realization of revenue and profitability goals within the Service Department.
  • Schedule work and conduct pertinent resource planning as applicable, with assistance from the Director of CEMS Applications as necessary.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, development and retention of Service team members. Ensure the Service team is properly trained to the Global standard. Develop and maintain Service stream Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide internal and external training and information sessions as required.
  • Attendance at seminars, tradeshows, and other industry related events as deemed necessary by management.
  • Review and approve administrative work (including timesheets and invoicing) on a routine basis and ensure that all administrative tasks (including invoicing and related activities, timesheets, and expenses) are completed on a timely basis by all members of the Service team.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required (including but not limited to) completing job sheets, timesheets, and expenses in a timely manner.
  • CEMS Field Maintenance
  • Prepare tools and equipment necessary for the successful completion of each job Conduct scheduled maintenance on CEM systems * Perform analyzer calibrations and adjustments
  • Troubleshoot CEMS issues and perform on-site repairs
  • Perform basic data input and analysis, data acquisition and control system development and debugging
  • Respond to emergency field maintenance requests
  • Complete field reports and documentation, as required.
  • Regulatory Performance Testing and Supervision Plan and coordinate jobs with customers and 3rd party contractors
  • Conduct environmental compliance testing (CGA, RATA supervisions, certifications)
  • Ensure testing is conducted according to environmental regulations
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of technical reports for clients.
  • Client Support and Other Duties (where applicable) Assist with new CEMS construction activities such as fabrication, wiring, tubing, etc. * Assist with new CEMS installations and commissioning
  • Complete service inventory counts; ensure there is sufficient service parts inventory
  • Provide client phone/email/training support on technical matters and CEMS service issues.
  • Provide internal CEMS / stack testing consulting services (CEMS Monitoring Plans, Certification Reports, Technical Assessments); and
  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management Program by all Service Department personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to the Health and Safety Program by all Service Department personnel.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned from time to time by the Employer.
Qualifications * Technical Diploma or Certificate in Instrumentation or Automation, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role or setting.
  • Working experience with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), process gas analyzers, and data control systems (Allen Bradley/Modicon PLC).
  • Past experience working in an Instrumentation/Automation/Field service role.
  • SQL experience is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the MS Suite and enterprise management software.
  • Previous experience with WHMIS and \xe2\x80\x98Transportation of Dangerous Goods\xe2\x80\x99.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-manage with a strong attention to detail.
  • Positive, upbeat and able to provide effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with ability to meet various deadlines working with highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently as well as flexibly and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • In possession of a valid Alberta Class 5 vehicle operator\xe2\x80\x99s license and clean driving record.
  • Candidate must be able to sit and work at a computer for periods of time mixed with some lifting for shipping and receiving purposes (items up to 30kg.) and some minor office maintenance.
  • Ability to work some field work, and balance in-office activities and responsibilities.

At a minimum we require:
  • Education or experience in instrumentation, preferably environmental monitoring
  • A valid Class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a clean driving record
  • Physically fit (able to lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Unafraid of heights (able to climb a ladder up to 150 feet)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of how to use a personal computer, including MS Office Suite, email
