About Strescon Limited

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for working directly with Project Coordinators and Engineers to ensure that all projects are completed safely within budget and defined scope. The Field Project Manager must be an effective communicator with the leadership skills necessary to motivate professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results on every project. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, with the ability to proactively plan and multitask. This is a position that requires a solid understanding of operations combined with the desire to develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating job / erection sequences
  • Sourcing and receiving erection materials (including machinery)- Requisition, PO
  • Generating and submitting erection reports (collection) / daily work and field variance reports
  • Overseeing and promoting safety management on site in addition to training
  • Job planning & preliminary estimates including scheduling and establishing budgets
  • Submitting change orders and change order estimates
  • Entering hours for payroll into Kronos
  • Hands on training in the field is necessary for success
  • Shipping co-ordination, managing limitations and conflicts with other projects
  • Traveling throughout the maritime provinces and New England states
  • Surveying & Layout
  • Participating in site and production meetings
  • Occasional site work may be required from time to time
Technical Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering
  • Ability to learn Google SketchUp and Tekla, with exposure to other engineering related software
