Forbes Bros Ltd. is looking for experienced, full-time, permanent Field Mechanics to join our growing team supporting our projects based out of Saskatchewan on work sites in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Melfort, Pelican Narrows and more.Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Field Mechanic maintains, repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at our Powerline Construction Project Sites. This role is accountable to ensure vehicle documentation is correct, regulatory requirements are met, and all documentation is in place before vehicles or equipment are issued. Key Responsibilities:

• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and components on a variety of equipment including but not limited to tractor-trailer units and large commercial vehicles.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Assist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and components
• Maintain service truck and keep stocked with tools and spare parts
• Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites
• Responsible for maintaining the service truck logbooks/Tailboards/Safety paperwork
• Responsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint/Sent to Fleet Manager
• Maintain shop tools and work area
• Ensure vehicle documentation is correct and in place before vehicle or equipment is issued
• Ensure FBL Fleet meets all regulatory requirements
• May be required to perform duties outside of normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed

What We Are Looking For:

• Heavy Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician- Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Off Road), Heavy Equipment Technician - Truck and Transport Mechanic. Red Seal Endorsement considered an asset.
• 3-5 years related experience in the Powerline Industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with Federal and Provincial regulations
• Have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Able and willing to travel to various project sites
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment leveraging excellence in time management
• Strong written, oral communication skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• In compliance with Client and Project requirements, pre-screening and an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract may be required
