Job Description




Principal accountabilities and duties:
Part of the Canadian Marketing and PR team, this role is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of the communications and content strategy for Canada.

This position works closely with the Senior Director of Marketing and PR, Public Relations Manager, the Canadian Marketing team, and the Canadian business partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • develop content that aligns with strategy and supports key business messages, including integrating research about business and career trends from media team into field communications programs and identifying new content ideas to further the field communications strategy.
  • Forge strong relationships with field leadership to manage and develop communications for memos, speeches, presentations, and panels.
  • Customize and tailor presentation materials for speaking and event opportunities, inclusive of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work autonomously to develop compelling communications materials including, but not limited to, strategic business plans, website content, blogs, infographics, newsletter submissions, speaking points, bios, speeches, intranet content and additional correspondence.
  • Review all material related to both US and global initiatives, including memos, multimedia assets and additional materials prior to internal Canadian dissemination to ensure materials reflect Canadian spelling/Canadian Press style, proper grammar, and Canadian-specific/local market key messaging.
  • Manage external field presentation program in Canada, with focus on developing new and relevant content that positions RH as an industry leader.
  • Partner with marketing colleagues on presentation, panel, and roundtable opportunities, identifying speakers and topics and developing event-specific content when needed.
  • Assist in developing content calendar for Canada.
  • Assist with the Canadian media relations program as needed, including offering insight and support as required.
  • Share pertinent career/hiring information with clients, candidates, and field teams to support their work with clients and candidates, including the compilation and distribution of monthly resources.
  • Identify new internal communications opportunities, with an emphasis on field engagement and education and RH Canada internal brand building, collaborating with Corporate and International Communications teams when appropriate.
  • Ensure all communications reflect a tone and style that is consistent with the company brand strategy.
  • Select the appropriate content channels and vehicles for key messages, factoring in social channels, infographics, videos, etc.
  • Draft and upload social media content on a weekly basis to support the Canadian field and corporate teams with their reputation and branding building efforts.
  • Manage local community relations efforts and promote local community support activities.
  • Identify Canadian-specific accolade and leadership recognition opportunities.
  • Work with the Public Relations Manager to draft and submit nomination packages in the appropriate formats, and the Canadian Marketing Team to support the external promotion of awards and recognition.
  • Establish metrics and measurement reporting to evaluate the effectiveness of communications and content programs and projects in terms of employee engagement including refining the program as needed.


Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years of experience working in a communications or public relations role
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Superior customer service mindset, including the ability to interact with all levels of field and senior leadership with the same responsiveness
  • Capacity to respond quickly and confidently to sometimes urgent need, providing quality communications on behalf of field leaders
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communications/public relations, marketing, or a related discipline
  • Intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills are an asset.
  • Bilingual English/French language skills are an asset.
