About the role

We're looking for a Property Claims Field Adjuster to join our growing team!

As a Property Claims Field Adjuster, you'll be at the heart of what we do best: helping people. You'll work alongside a passionate and diverse team of adjusters who are experts in helping customers get back on track after a loss.

Your empathy and impressive skills will be a great addition to our team, and we'll give you exciting opportunities to investigate and manage complex claims and losses for both our personal and commercial lines of business. This is a full time permanent remote opportunity servicing the GTA.

What you'll do here:

  • Let your technical expertise shine as you approach each unique situation.
  • Assess and analyze policy wordings and damage to determine appropriate coverage.
  • Assess the potential liability of the insured and third parties via consultations with experts.
  • Negotiate with customers, third parties and insurers to settle claims, within your established authority scope.
  • Actively participate in claims catastrophes (CATs).
  • Build relationships and collaborate with different teams including appraisal, underwriting and legal.
  • Manage costs efficiently and effectively.
  • Stay in the know about current insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
What you bring to the table:
  • 3 to 7 years experience handling personal and commercial property claims.
  • University degree or college diploma and/or equivalent business experience.
  • A valid Class 'G' drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel on short notice.
  • Previous experience in the field is an asset.
  • You are an excellent communicator with a passion for customer service.
  • You are highly knowledgeable of personal and commercial insurance products.
  • You are a skilled investigator and critical thinker.
  • You are a self-motivated goal seeker; you love a fast pace and interesting challenges.
  • You are an independent, analytical expert who can problem solve under pressure.
  • You are an organizational ace - You keep detailed documents, records of interviews with policy holders and witnesses, research, reports, and communications.
  • You are an outcome owner who can take appropriate action and be accountable for their decisions.
