We are currently seeking an experienced Fibre Splicer to join our fast-growing team.Job InformationPentagon Group is currently seeking to hire responsible and reliable Fibre Splicer Technicians. The ideal candidates are individuals with minimum 3 years of fibre splicing experience, who enjoy working outdoors and who are not afraid of physical labour.Responsibilities: Splice and test fiber optic cables in all outside plant applications - aerial, burial and confined spaces, on both newly placed and existing cables. Analyze test results and can troubleshoot and correct any faults or defects. Interpret and understand placing and splicing work plans. Read and interpret work plans or job specifications to execute all work assigned safely and in accordance with the Company Health and Safety policy. Work outdoors in various conditions to place copper, coax or fiber optic telecommunication cables. Operate a variety of construction equipment to assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses. Clean and maintain tools, equipment and maintain sufficient stock levels. Accurately record and report project progress to the appropriate supervisory person and communicate any issues or expected delays. Climb poles, ladders, bucket truck and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 feet. Other duties as required.Qualifications: Holds a valid Ontario Driver's license. 3-5 years of splicing experience. Able to complete the necessary training for First Aid, working at heights and confined space, pass the corresponding examinations and receive a client authorization number as required. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to interpret placing and splicing plans. Competency in OTDR and other testing protocol. Good communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team environment. Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable Health and Safety training as per legislative and job requirements. Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check and a clean driver's abstract. Available to work evenings, weekends and on call when required. Ability to meet physical requirements (bend, sit, lift, and stand for prolonged periods of time). Commitment to a safe work culture. Must have own transportation to travel to the warehouse/office where company vehicles are provided.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $25.00-$30.00 per hourBenefits:
