Fiber Optic Trainee AssistantPOSITION INFORMATION Job title Fiber Optic Trainee Assistant- OSP Division Reports to Telecommunications Lead Tech/Project Manager Location Main Office, 607 Front Street Nelson, BC V1L 4B6 Hours of Work Full Time Job Summary As a successful Fiber Optic trainee, you will be exposed to a wide spectrum of tasks within the Fiber Optic industry. You will learn and assist with full scope construction including aerial placement, underground placement, documentation, excavation, troubleshooting, inside terminal installation, testing, installation of underground vaults, installation of splice closures, installation of internal cabling, copper cabling, telephone company standards and related. Equipment used could include bucket trucks, reel trailers, mini excavators,OTDR and loss test equipment, fiber optic termination tools, directional drills, shovels, and related.You will be required to competently operate special purpose-built equipment unique to the work.
