About the opportunity
We are looking for a self-driven, proactive and curious Accountant with Big 4 experience to take on a diverse and evolving role covering a range of responsibilities within fiat operations at Figment: from monthly close journal entries and reconciliations to financial reporting, controls evaluation and ad hoc tasks and projects.

How you will make an impact
Support monthly financial close, including general ledger reconciliations, analytics, and preparation of management reporting and FS under US GAAP
Own schedules and reconciliations for accruals, prepaids and deposits, fixed assets, investments, leases (ASC 842), intercompany accounts, payroll, share-based compensation and other areas
Support Payroll accounting including but not limited to recording monthly journal entries and reconciling the payroll accounts including bonuses, commissions, PTO, etc.
Prepare monthly Management Reporting and Financial Statements under US GAAP
General bookkeeping and day-to-day ad-hoc accounting tasks and other projects (e.g. reviewing control matrices and process narratives annually)
Assist with audit preparation, statutory filings and compliance requirements
Helping improve accounting process to increase automation, efficiency and decrease close timelines
Partner cross-functionally with Crypto team, Treasury and FP&A to streamline workflows

What you bring to the team
CPA or working towards the certification
3-4 years of Big 4 experience
1-2+ years of practical accounting experience is an asset
Strong understanding of US GAAP and reporting requirements is required
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
The ability to research and resolve technical and operating accounting issues
The ability to take initiative and work with quick turnaround times & deadlines
Experience working with a heavy volume of data from multiple sources
Keen attention to detail, solid organizational skills and ability to collaborate and prioritize tasks in a remote fast-paced environment
NetSuite or similar ERP experience is an asset

Compensation
One of Figment's core principles is "Making the Invisible Visible" - ensuring transparency and information sharing in all communication. Figment is committed to transparency regarding pay, benefits, and other compensation types for all internal roles as well as all roles being hired for.
Base Salary:
The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD
$75,000 - $100,000
. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate's specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.
