Who We Are: The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society is a dynamic, non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to bringing world-class folk music to the stunning coastal UNESCO heritage town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We create unforgettable experiences through intimate live performances at our flagship event, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, and a variety of other exciting events, including •Weekends at the Opera House• and •Saturdays in the Park•. Our mission is to make folk music accessible to all, fostering a vibrant cultural community!

Position Overview: We're seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as •Festival Support Staff• for our 2025 Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival (August 7-10). This full-time, seasonal role runs from May 12 to August 15, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to be at the heart of one of Nova Scotia's most exciting music festivals. Working closely with our team of staff, board members, and volunteers, you'll play a key role in ensuring the festival's success. Reporting to the Administrative Services Coordinator and the Vice President, you'll have the chance to sharpen your skills while contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape of Lunenburg. Some evenings and weekends may be required, but you'll enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the smooth day-to-day operations of the Folk Harbour office.
• Support the Marketing and Publicity team in promoting the festival, concerts, and events across various platforms, including social media.
• Engage with the public, answering inquiries via phone, email, or in-person with excellent customer service.
• Handle ticket sales and ensure accurate tracking of sales both online and in person.
• Offer administrative support to committees, ensuring seamless communication and resource distribution.
• Maintain organized records and assist with other office tasks as needed.
• Be on-call during the festival weekend to assist wherever needed.
• Gather and organize key performer information, including billeting, transportation, and technical needs, and maintain a database.
• Help recruit volunteers and manage our volunteer database.
• Assemble and distribute performer and emcee schedules and packages.
• Design and produce venue signage and site packages.
• Create nametags for performers, volunteers, and festival staff.

Who We're Looking For: This role is for post-secondary students returning to full-time studies in the fall or young individuals aged 15-30, due to funding requirements.

• An interest in folk music and arts promotion.
• Exceptional attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communication abilities and customer service experience.
• Previous experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
• Familiarity with office equipment and software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
