At Anika Youth Services,

we support at-risk youth

in the Surrey and Langley area who are in need of wrap around services, including long-term housing, outreach services, and life skills programming. AYS creates individualized plans that address the youth's mental health, social, behavioural, and emotional needs

We serve a demographic of female youth with multiple barriers, vulnerabilities, and who have experienced trauma, therefore; we only hire female employees as per our safety guidelines.

We are a team that works together from every level of the agency to support our youth.

Attachment theory, trauma informed practice, crisis management, and life skills will be the foundations of your work with the youth. This position allows you to have extensive front line exposure and positively impact the lives of our most vulnerable youth.

Currently we are looking to hire 1 Addiction Support Worker to work the hours of

11pm-7am (Awake Overnight)

in a rotation of

4 days on 4 days off.

This role is within our Low-barrier housing program that integrates a harm reduction approach while ensuring quality of care for the youth within the resource. This position will provide successful candidates with the experience of gaining extensive front line exposure and create the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our most vulnerable youth.

Qualifications:



Minimum 2 year diploma in Addictions Support, child and youth care, psychology, criminology, or related social services field Two (2) years' recent, related professional experience working with substance use and/ or harm reduction.

Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience:



Working with vulnerable populations who are in active addiction Understand Harm Reduction approach Understand How to build relationships Understand Trauma informed approach Barriers faced by those who are in active addiction Knowledge of community, social and health resources Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment

For this position:



Be able to work shifts

Awake Overnight 11pm-7am

Class 5 License and reliable vehicle

Mandatory
Complete/Have Standard First-Aid Level 1 with CPR Clear criminal record
