Job Description

The Postmark Hotel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for maintaining the high standards of service and guest satisfaction at our establishments, primarily covering shifts as a Maitre d' in Overlea, our vibrant rooftop restaurant, and our sophisticated Lobby Lounge. In addition to front-of-house leadership, this position includes light administrative duties such as tip-outs and labour management.

Responsibilities:

Shift Coverage & Leadership:

+ Act as Maitre d' for shifts in Overlea (rooftop restaurant) and the Lobby Lounge, ensuring seamless operations and an exceptional guest experience.
+ Oversee and support service staff, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to service standards.
+ Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure satisfaction.
+ Monitor dining areas for cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Administrative Duties:

+ Accurately manage and process daily tip-outs for service staff.
+ Assist with labour management tasks, including basic scheduling adjustments and attendance tracking.
+ Complete end-of-shift reports and other necessary documentation.
Operational Support:

+ Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed for both Overlea and the Lobby Lounge.
+ Assist with inventory management and ordering as needed.
+ Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure efficient service flow.
+ Support training initiatives for new and existing staff members.


Qualifications:

Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within a high-volume restaurant, bar, or hotel food and beverage operation. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on guest service. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including long periods of time on your feet, walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout shifts.
