THE ROLE:



Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the

F&B Supervisor Banquets/Outlets,

is responsible for assisting in the smooth operation of the hotel's banquet facilities and Outlets, including coordinating activity on a daily basis, and overseeing banquet events to ensure the highest level of guest experience and satisfaction is achieved, while adhering to all Atlific and Marriott service and operational standards as well as legislated food safety and alcohol service standards and practices. Responsibilities will include:

The F&B Supervisor will have a main focus in banquets with related duties in outlets depending on business levels.

Under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage, assist in supervising, motivating and managing the performance of F&B associates, in order to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Embody and promote a culture where all team members are empowered to provide our guests with service excellence, supporting them to exceed guest expectations.

Resolve guest concerns through service recovery and working collaboratively with team members.

Ensure the achievement of our vision and goals by monitoring the daily performance of the banquets team.

Assist in the training and coaching of banquets team members, to ensure their professional development.

Participate in daily/weekly meetings to discuss F&B requirements, noting any changes in contracts.

Assist in the scheduling of work hours of banquets associates to ensure proper staffing levels within budgetary restraints.

As a hands-on supervisor, work regular shifts and assist service staff, working as a team.

Ensure banquet area is well maintained and properly stocked.

Ensure banquet associates follow proper opening and closing procedures.

Enforce all applicable liquor laws.

Supervise the handling, storage and security of banquet service equipment.

Supervise and assist in function room set ups.

Supervise the cleanup of all functions.

Liaise with other departments to ensure communication and positive relations.

Provide unique and creative ideas to enhance meetings & group experience.

In collaboration with the Director of F&B, hold and/or participate in pre-function reviews of banquet orders with F&B team, Kitchen and Events Manager to ensure event readiness and understanding of set-ups and special requests so that guest requirements are exceeded.

Check all banquet functions to ensure exceptional guest service.

Update kitchen staff on number of guests to ensure reusable food is not wasted.

Inspect function rooms ensuring setup conforms to the banquet order.

Respond and follow up on guest requests for special services and resolve guest problems and complaints.

Inspect quality and quantity of food and beverage items being served.

Prepare cash float for cash bars when needed.

Prepare and submit banquet function invoices.

Prepare report on outcome of each banquet function.

Ensure that hotel and departmental policies and procedures are being followed.

Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation and safety within all banquet areas in accordance with legislated health regulations and safety standards.

Maintain a good knowledge of local competition and general industry trends.

Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Provide support per the Emergency Response Plan as needed.

Be an active member of the Health and Safety Committee.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Maintain a professional image at all times.

Project an enthusiastic, optimistic, helpful attitude.

Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by senior managers.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE:



A minimum of 2 years experience within a Food and Beverage banquet department or outlet, preferably in a hotel setting or related hospitality operation.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Post-secondary education in hospitality, culinary or a related field a definite asset.

Must have an excellent understanding of health & safety regulations, as well provincial and city licensing laws & regulations.

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of associates and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

Must be effective at listening to understand, communicate and clarify any concerns raised by associates and guests.

Must be able to multitask and prioritize work place tasks to meet deadlines.

Must have ability to train associates and help them to continue to improve and develop their skills.

Must have an ability to work well under pressure.

Must have a demonstrated passion for providing guest service excellence and inspiring team members to go above and beyond.

Must possess a high degree of professionalism.

Computer literacy required: MS Windows and related hotel systems (Micros experience an asset).

Food Safety and Pro Serve Certification required.

First Aid Certification an asset.

Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.

Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends & public holidays. Hours of work will be scheduled based on business volumes/operational demands and will vary.

Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
