G. Visser & Sons is a family owned and operated potato farm in beautiful Orwell Cove PEI. At Vissers we specialize in growing high quality potatoes in the beautiful red soils of PEI and packaging them to be shipped all around the world feeding people near and far.

G. Visser & Sons is seeking to add a hard working, self-motivated and skilled operator to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing various types of farm equipment.

Responsibilities may include:

Operating and maintaining farm equipment as directed by supervisor. Farm equipment may include - tractors, potato and grain planting and harvesting equipment, sprayers, and various other farm and heavy equipment. Performing routine maintenance, repairs and upgrades to farm equipment as directed. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and maintenance. Collaborate well with team members to ensure smooth and productive workflow. o Employ basic math skills to accurately measure materials and calculate necessary quantities. Keeping work areas clean and organized. Hauling potatoes, grains and other materials as required. Required skills and qualifications: Previous experience operating potato farming machinery, sprayers and heavy equipment is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Must be mechanically inclined. Valid Class 1A drivers license preferred (Valid 3A minimum with willingness to upgrade) Valid and up to date sprayer applicators license. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliable, with a team-oriented attitude.
