Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Farm Manager with strong mechanical skills to join our feedlot team. This position is a combination of management and hands-on work. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising silage harvest and manure management operations, overseeing staff, and ensuring that all feedlot equipment--including feed trucks, loaders, tractors, and related machinery--is properly maintained and operating safely.

Position Responsibilities:

- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of feedlot equipment such as feed trucks, loaders, tractors, dozers, and other machinery.

- Ensure the mechanical shop, tools, and equipment safety inspections are properly managed.

- Supervise silage harvest and manure management, coordinating crews and schedules.

- Provide leadership to farm staff while also working alongside them when needed.

- Collaborate with ownership and feedlot supervisors to meet production and operational goals.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in farm management, farm operations, or as a farm mechanic.

- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment.

- Previous experience with silage harvest and manure handling preferred.

- Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

- Mechanic trade certification is an asset but not required.

Work Environment and Schedule:

Average 50+ hours per week, approximately 200+ hours per month.

Monday-Friday, with the occasional Saturday during busy seasons.

Schedule may change depending on the season and demands of the feedlot.

Terms of Employment and Compensation:

- Permanent, Full Time

- Hourly wage: CA$30.00-CA$38.00, depending on experience.
