We are seeking a dedicated Cranberry Farm Manager to oversee the operations of our cranberry farm. As the Cranberry Farm Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing day to day activities of the cranberry farm.
Responsibilites:
1. Team Leadership: You will lead a team of field workers, training and supervision to ensure efficient and effective operations. This includes managing work schedules, assigning tasks and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
2. Crop Production: You will be responsible for coordinating and executing all activities related to cranberry crop production. This includes managing schedules, implementing fertilization and pest control strategies, ensuring optimal crop yield, and implementing efficient farming practices. Your role will involve coordinating harvesting schedules, overseeing irrigation systems and maintaining equipment and monitoring crop health throughout the growing season through to harvest. You will oversee frost protection management and coordinate pest and disease control measures to ensure optimal cranberry growth and health.
3. Regulatory Compliance: The Farm Manager will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits including Global Gap Certification. You will maintain accurate records, submit required reports, and stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes in the field of environment and agriculture management.
Qualifications:
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Previous experience in cranberry or agriculture management is considered an asset.
Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
Effective communication skills, both written and spoken, in English and French is considered an asset plus the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A Class 5 driver's license is required. A Class 1 driver's license plus the ability to operate machinery and equipment would be considered an asset.
